It appears in the Outlook ribbon, in the same tab as the standard<br>composition tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Checking your text<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Write your email in Welsh<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the text you wish to check<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Cysill<\/strong> button in the ribbon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A task pane will appear on the right side of the window<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Cysill will analyse the selected text and display any spelling, grammar, and<br>mutation errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Correcting errors<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>When Cysill identifies an error:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A card will appear showing:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The error type (spelling or grammar)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The text in context, with the error highlighted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A brief explanation of the error<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Up to five suggested corrections<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the correction you wish to use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the <strong>Accept<\/strong> button to confirm the change<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The card will disappear and the change counter will increment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After completing all corrections, click <strong>Update<\/strong> to apply the changes to<br>your email<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using the personal dictionary<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If Cysill flags a word that is correct but not in its dictionary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the <strong>Learn<\/strong> button on the error card <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The word will be added to your personal dictionary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The word will not be flagged as an error in future sessions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To manage your personal dictionary:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the dictionary button in the Outlook ribbon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A list of your learned words will appear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on any word to delete it from the dictionary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ignoring words<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you wish to ignore a word for the current session only:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the <strong>Ignore<\/strong> button on the error card<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The card will disappear<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The word may be flagged again in future sessions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing the interface language<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Cysill is available in Welsh and English:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Look at the bottom of the Cysill task pane<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong>Cymraeg<\/strong> or <strong>English<\/strong> to switch language<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All interface labels will update immediately<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If the Cysill button does not appear<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you cannot see the Cysill button in the ribbon:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Look at the upper right corner of the email<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If Outlook is displaying a simplified version of the ribbon, click the down<br>arrow to reveal all buttons<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"deployment-guide\">Cysill for Microsoft Outlook &#8211; deployment guide<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cysill is a Welsh language spell-checker and grammar correction add-in for<br>Microsoft Outlook developed by Bangor University&#8217;s Language Technologies Unit<br>(Uned Technolegau Iaith).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Version:<\/strong> 26.04.0<br><strong>Developer:<\/strong> Prifysgol Bangor University<br><strong>Support:<\/strong> cysgliad@bangor.ac.uk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key features<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Spell checking and grammar checking for Welsh text<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Personal dictionary management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bilingual interface (Welsh \/ English)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contextual error display with correction suggestions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Batch correction updates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Security &amp; privacy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Local processing architecture<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The add-in processes all text locally on the user&#8217;s device. The proofing runs<br>in the browser \/ desktop app using WebAssembly. Email content is not<br>transmitted to external servers for analysis. The user&#8217;s personal dictionary is<br>stored in browser local storage and is not shared between devices or programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Permissions required<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ReadWriteItem<\/strong> allows the add-in to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Read content of emails being composed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modify selected text in emails<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>See the <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/office\/dev\/add-ins\/outlook\/understanding-outlook-add-in-permissions\">Microsoft documentation<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">External connections<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CDN resources. This is required for the add-in to function. Add-in files are<br>loaded from our Content Delivery Network, served via HTTPS.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.techiaith.cymru\/cysill\/outlook\/lleol\/\">https:\/\/cdn.techiaith.cymru\/cysill\/outlook\/lleol\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Supported platforms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Microsoft Outlook (Desktop App &#8211; Windows)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outlook 365 (Web &#8211; All platforms)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The MacOS desktop app is not currently supported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Installation &amp; deployment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Option 1: centralised deployment<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Deploy via Microsoft 365 Admin Center:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.techiaith.cymru\/cysill\/outlook\/lleol\/manifest.xml\">manifest.xml<\/a> file<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access Microsoft 365 Admin Center<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Integrated apps<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Add-ins<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload the manifest file<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assign to users or groups<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Option 2: manual installation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Individual users can side-load the add-in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide users with the <a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.techiaith.cymru\/cysill\/outlook\/lleol\/manifest.xml\">manifest.xml<\/a> file<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/olksideload\">https:\/\/aka.ms\/olksideload<\/a> and wait for the pop-up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>My add-ins<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Add a custom add-in<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Add from file<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Browse and select the manifest file<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm installation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microsoft will sync the add-in to your desktop app automatically, it may<br>take a day. Reload the web version (<code>Ctrl+Shift+R<\/code>) and you should see the<br>add-in there immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Verification<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>After installation, users should see a <strong>Cysill<\/strong> button in the Outlook ribbon<br>when composing new emails or replies. It is available in the <strong>Message<\/strong> and<br><strong>Insert<\/strong> ribbons.
